The new économie service from Brittany Ferries is designed for those who want a cheaper crossing but are prepared for a few minor sacrifices in terms of speed and services on board.
The ferry departs from 23:15 hrs each evening from Portsmouth from the middle of May to early November. The ferry arrives at 08:30 hrs in the morning. Meaning you are fully relaxed and ready for whatever is ahead. You are able too see and book the full range of cabins as you make your booking.
Two ferries operate the économie service, the Etretat and Baie de Seine. On the Eretrat, you will find a bar, movie lounge and a seating area. The Baie de Seine features a café, bar and a small children's play area.
On board the Normandie Express
If you don't sail on the économie service you will sail aboard the Normandie Express. This is a luxury modern high speed ferry with a top speed of about 42 knots (78 kph).
All passengers on this ferry receive a place in a complimentary reclining seat. And if you want to treat yourself you can also upgrade to a club seat. These comfortable leather seats have extra leg room and a foot-rest, individual reading lights and USB charge points. Complimentary magazines and newspapers as well as a complimentary tea, coffee, water or orange juice are also included in the price if you upgrade.
If you fancy a bite to eat you will find two bars and a café, serving fresh sandwiches, salads, pastries, snacks, cold drinks, teas and coffees.
