Kavala Routes
Kavala is a city in northern Greece, 99 miles east of Thessaloniki. It is one of the most beautiful cities in Greece with a wide range excursions available and many sparsely populated beaches. Being further north, the climate is milder than the more popular resorts in Greece. Regular sailings to and from Kavala are operated by Hellenic Seaways, which you can book with AFerry.

Ferries to and from Kavala
Hellenic Seaways' fleet of 10 conventional ferries provides a variety of cabins, and modern facilities including restaurants, shops and sun-decks. Some ferries also have swimming pools which can be used in the summer months. The ships can carry between approximately 1,300 and 1,900 passengers.
About Kavala
Kavala has a rich culture built over many years with various occupancies, including the Romans, the Goths and the Ottomans - who gave the city its name. Due to its location, it became a commercial centre linking the West to the East. The city is built on the slopes of Mount Simvolo, allowing all buildings to have a clear view of the spectacular sea.
Kavala Port
Kavala is a major port and can be reached from several islands in the north Aegan island group, including Limnos. Near the port you'll find central Kavala and a beautiful harbour with fishing and sailing boats.
Kavala port facilities
The port is in the centre of Kavala so all amenities are close by.
Getting to the Ferry
The centre of Kavala can easily be traversed on foot, however there is a small tourist train from the central square to the old town for those with limited mobility, or those who enjoy the ride.
Bus services are available but do note that tickets must be bought in advance and cannot be purchased on the bus itself. If you get on the bus without a ticket, you will be unable to travel.
Taxi services are relatively cheap but rates do increase after midnight.
